So,the McCain supporter one legged GI was telling the truth and this bloke is a liar. Sounds pretty partisan to me. GW.

If America invaded my country because they didn't like my form of government and wanted to bring American style democracy here, I'd be out shooting as many of em as I could. America does NOT have the right to be in Iraq and by their presence there are creating more terrorism and hatred towards the west.

vets have a unique perspective--- the perspective of its THEIR asses ON THE LINE---every day---24/7---there IS no break, there CAN be no relief--the very nature of the "job" is trying to survive---

they SEE things, DO things, that will haunt them for the rest of their lives---living haunted for the rest of their days--- guys who survived WW2 tell tales with tears in their eyes, STILL shaken to the core after what, SIXTY years...
if a vet stands up and speaks out, whether for or against, thats his/her HARDwon right--- whether we agree with his/her views or not, its whats in their heart---
think of all the vietnam war vets who came home and marched against the war, against policy, against atrocity...

personally, i tend to gravitate towards the folks who declare war is hell, war doesnt care if geriatrics or babes suffer, if the environment is poisoned for generations, hell, if PEOPLE are genetically poisoned for generations ...war is self serving, self generating, and is destructive beyond imagination...

i didnt watch the whole thing, but this kids demeanor seems to speak the truth--- the truth that was alters you, alters the enemy, and is FAR beyond the comprehension of all the armchair generals in the world...

I'm a Gulf War veteran. Do not presume to lecture me on the horrors of war. War is regrettable, and sometimes nessesary. Civilians are always killed, and have been since the dawn of warfare. Sometimes, it is even nessesary to target civilians, i.e., civilian industries that are supporting the enemies war effort, as the Allies did to Dresden in WWII. If the enemy is hiding among the civilian population as a matter of stratagy, the only way to take them out is to take out civilians with them.

One day, far in the future, war will become an archaic anomoly. But until then, we had all best be glad that there are those who will place themselves in harm's way to protect our nations from barbarism, and leaders willing to make the hard decisions nesessary to that end.

Just so I'm not misunderstood. I'm not trying to paint our servicemen as baby-killers or war criminals or any such bullshit. I think they're good people put in a bad place to do bad things for a bad reason (in Iraq anyway). Wolf, when you were in the Gulf region it was for an entirely different purpose at a different time in history. Also you weren't there for quite as long as these guys and had an entirely different mission.
Here's another testimonial. I'm starting to believe that the means aren't necessarily justifying the ends. Or that there will ever be any "justifiable" end.

I understand what you are both saying. I don't have a problem with your positions regarding the current hostilities. I saw no justification for going in this time, other than Cheny and Rummy talking Bush into it to bring about thier "New American Century" plan they drew up after the Iranian hostage debacle, to use Iraq as a forward operating base to launch a strike at Iran. Our efforts should have been concentrated on Afganistan. In fact, the CIA officer in charge at Tora Bora said that we had Bin Ladin trapped, but due to the lack of American forces on the ground (Rummy's idea to use the local warlords as cannon fodder), He escapes into Northern Pakistan. It could have ended there, cutting off the head of the snake.

Rumsfeld was an idiot know-it-all, and Cheney is a piss-poor version of Darth Vader. Where has that b****rd been hiding lately? An undisclosed location?
